Moss Corner

Description

Full view of turn five "a" and "b" (turn 5c is hidden by the trees on the right) at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (formerly known as Mosport). Turn five a,b and c are collectively known as Moss Corner, named for Stirling Moss, and are one of the more notable segments of the track.
A few things to point out:
- They've paved the path to get to the plateau behind it; it used to be you practically needed climbing gear to get there, now you just need a good pair of lungs to make it up the 45° incline.
- They've paved the runoff at the top of 5a (on the left in this view) where a lot of cars would end up in the dirt and cause a caution. This has resulted in fewer cautions; although cars still wind up there, they can drive off now.
- The hill behind the curve has been smoothed out, giving photographers with big lenses many more choices of angles for shooting the action.
- The spot where we stake out our territory is on the left behind the curve but hidden by those trees.
- The rise in turn 5a is a lot steeper than it appears from this angle.
