(From the point of view of an American)
I remember everything I was taught, and everything that was bullsh-t.
If we are to teach history, we have to make it as accurate as possible. I'm tired of hearing stories that never occurred, or being told of bastardized versions of really happened in almost every point in time. (One prime example: Benjamin Franklin flying a kite during a thunder storm.)
Why does every point in history have to have a "bad guy" when teaching? Why not tell the truth?
We quickly pass over certain points in history and embellish American ones.
When the internet is more accurate than a history class, you hit a new low.
Rant: Ended.
